MALE CHOIR SEEKING SINGERS
|
The Buderim Male Choir is looking to build on its successful 2011 with a concerted effort to get more Sunshine Coast men involved in choral singing in 2012.
Choir spokesman Barry Leigh said it’s an activity suitable for men of all ages, it’s fun and has demonstrated health benefits. The initiative to get more men into singing with others is supported wholeheartedly by the choir’s Music Director Paul Coppens who believes that anyone who has the gift of speech also has the ability to sing.
The Buderim Male Choir is a true community choir and, though ‘Buderim’ in name, is very much a Sunshine Coast choir with members coming from all parts of the region. It is strongly aware of the role it plays in terms of both promoting the art of male choral singing on the Sunshine Coast and providing a forum for men who want to sing with other like-minded men.
The choir will resume its weekly Monday night rehearsals on 23 January 2012 and will conduct additional sessions for men who need assistance with reading music or voice training. Rehearsals are presented as a mixture of fun, learning and social interaction. The ultimate goal is quality performance but there’s an emphasis on fun in preparing for that goal.
Sunshine Coast men are encouraged to consider being part of a new and exciting chapter in Sunshine Coast choral activity in 2012.
